Introducing the Washington State Charter Schools Association

facebookfactWelcome to the Washington State Charter Schools Association website. The Association is a new statewide nonprofit that will support the start-up of high-quality public charter schools, with a focus on serving at-risk populations and students who do not currently have access to high-performing schools.

The Association focuses on three key areas or support: providing information about charter schoolssupporting leaders who want to grow high-performing public charter schools; and providing general support and services to help charter schools operate.

In a press release announcing the launch of the Association, League of Education Voters CEO Chris Korsmo says, “Charter schools offer flexibility to try new and innovative ways to help more students succeed. We look forward to working with parents, school leaders, and communities to provide new choices to help every child graduate from high school prepared for college and careers.”

Today, we celebrate the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr, one of our country’s greatest advocates for education and civil rights.

We are proud to see his legacy alive in charter public school students and classrooms across the state.

"The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education." - Martin Luther King Jr.
