Our Schools and Locations
Impact is hiring for three schools, all located in racially, linguistically, and socioeconomically diverse communities. Impact | Puget Sound Elementary is located in Tukwila, just south of Seattle. Impact | Salish Sea Elementary is located in Seattle’s Central District. Impact | Commencement Bay Elementary will open in the fall of 2021 in Tacoma.

Core Job Functions
Guide outstanding academic achievement and social emotional learning
- Execute our core instructional model, leading high quality literacy, problem solving, and social emotional lessons from the IPS curriculum
- Build an empowering learning environment that excites and invests scholars in their learning
- Exemplify IPS’s core values in all interactions with scholars, families, and colleagues
- Utilize data to drive instruction and intervention
Serve as a mentor to students
- Coach, support and advocate for mentees throughout their academic career
- Start each day with student mentees to set and monitor long-term, mid-term and short-term goals
Commit to professional learning, development, and growth
- Actively engage in instructional coaching and professional development aimed at improving your practice
- Support the development of a new co-teacher/teacher fellow by modeling strong practices, planning together and sharing feedback with one another. *This isn’t a supervisory position*
Skills and Characteristics:
- Enthusiasm for literacy, math, SEL, and PBL
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- High level of instructional and classroom management skills
- Strong belief in the IPS mission and educational model, including experience implementing – or a passionate desire to learn how to integrate elements of project based learning – personalization and social emotional learning into instruction
- Ability to connect with and motivate a diverse student population
- Value the importance of working in a diverse, inclusive, and equitable environment
- Exhibit a growth mindset as an educator and lifelong learner
- Effectively collaborate with others
Educational Background/Work Experience and Eligibility:
- Gap closing teaching experience with proven record of student growth
- Bachelor’s degree
- Passionate about learning
- Washington teaching certificate (or commitment to obtain one)
- Must pass background check
Additional Requirements
- Prior to the start date of employment all employees need to obtain clearance on a criminal justice fingerprint and background check.
- Prior to being made an offer, the hiring manager will ask candidates to complete a character and fitness form from the Washington State Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction.”
Compensation
