Congratulations to charter public school parent Tina Rohrback, who in October 2025 received the Outstanding Parent Advocacy Award from WA Charters. These annual awards offer an opportunity to shine a light on the incredible parents, students, alumni, and leaders in our community who play an instrumental role in advocating for equitable public education.

Tina’s daughter attends a Spokane charter public school, where she appreciates how educators truly know each student and support them in ways that align with their learning styles and interests. She’s grateful that her daughter feels challenged, supported, and most importantly, excited to learn.
After learning about the need for charter public school advocates during a parent meeting, Tina quickly stepped up—joining Zoom calls with legislators and encouraging other parents to get involved in advocacy events and meetings. She’s seen firsthand how personal stories can influence decision-makers and shape policies that benefit not only her daughter but all charter public school students and families.
“Every student is different — they learn differently, thrive in different environments, and have unique needs. Education isn’t one-size-fits-all. Having access to different types of public schools gives families the ability to find the best fit for their child, helping every student reach their full potential.”
We are deeply grateful for the powerful advocate Tina has become and proud to recognize her leadership and dedication with this award.
