WA Charters Intern Spotlight: Crystal

Jan 14, 2026 | Blog, Student Spotlights

My name is Crystal. I am a WSCAG 2025-2026 intern, and I am currently attending a public charter school named Rooted School Vancouver. I’m a Junior and a founding student of Rooted. I appreciate and adore my public charter school! My school, Rooted, has helped me in countless ways. My school has been able to help me achieve my dreams of being able to work and develop my skills in advocacy, you see I have always been a loud and work-driven kid. Because of Rooted I have been given opportunities to speak to school boards about students wants and needs and I am also a Student Board Representative, Treasurer of my school, I have been in two recruitment ads for Rooted.

I take every opportunity to talk about Rooted because it is very dear to my heart. This school has helped me grow and flourish into the person I know I was made to become. Rooted has prepared me to make a smooth transition into furthering my education to become a lawyer. Advocating for myself, fellow students, my school has made me see I have a passion for speaking out which is what Rooted has let me do. These opportunities are why charter public schools are an amazing choice for kids, and for myself.
