Earlier this month, the Washington State Charter School Commission — the governing body and main authorizer for charter public schools in Washington — voted to approve Impact | Puget Sound’s plan to expand into middle and high school grades. This move reflects what families have been asking for: 96% of Impact families wanted a middle school option, and 95% wanted a high school option.
Right now, Impact | Puget Sound serves grades K–5. Beginning in Fall 2026, the school will open its doors to 6th and 9th graders, adding one new grade each year until it offers a full K–12 pathway. Soon, scholars will be able to start at Impact in Kindergarten and stay through graduation — building on a strong academic foundation every step of the way.
The focus remains the same: rigorous academics, college and career readiness, and whole-child development. As Impact designs this next chapter, input from families, students, staff, and partners will be central. More details on locations, timelines, and opportunities to get involved are coming soon.
